[IMG]Well i am a young member only fourteen but knows alot about cars for my age well, i had a 79 Ford F100 custom with a 460 big block bored 60 over in it(above)....welll my dad wrecked it. Good news is he is ok and the motor and tranny is still good. Well i was wondering if i could possibly stuff that 460 and C6 tranny into a 72 Ford Maverick.I have read that it is possible so now need to know of any adjustments that may need to take place within the Maverick(like replacing the front end). If you could help me out with this question it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. And by the way to AUSSIEBJ, thats a very nice mav.:Woot:

welcom to the board. youll need to put an aftarket front suspension based on a mustang 2 suspension. the c6 may prove to be too big for the stock transmission tunnel. you can cut it up and rebuild it to clear or use a c4 trans. good luck with your project and take lots of pics. we like pics around here

well the c4 trans will not bolt to the 460 .. and will not hold the up very well stock so they are around 1500.00 to get one the will work . and I have a complete mustang 2 front end for sale or you can buy an after market one for around 2000.00

What Frank said, the money off that motor and tranny will buy you a nice 302 and trans setup :thumbs2:

The 302 may be a lot smaller but it produced a LOT of power a LOT cheaper then a 460 can, for the main fact that parts for a 302 are everywhere.

Do a search on 302's, itll give you an idea on what a 302 can do:)

I went through the same thing when it came time to scrap my 72 Gran Torino. I kept the 351 CJ Cleveland, top loader 4 speed and N case 9 inch center section.

It's all getting stuffed in my Maverick now. :D

Mine was was dark brown with a ginger bucket seat interior and a black vinyl roof. The one in the movie was the fast back version and mine had the flat trunk.
