What do I do with the old master cylinder?

So now that I have swapped in the Wilwood, what do I do with the old one?

There is nothing wrong with it other than a worn plunger. I am pretty sure a rebuild kit can be had for it for next to nothing.

Is this trash, or can someone use it and rebuild it?

 

Does Autozone and other part stores accept donations?

I would donate it to someone restoring a Maverick or Comet. That would be a big help for someone down on their luck.

 

I agree. If it is useable to ANYONE, I would give it to them if they paid shipping. $5-10 shipping and another $15 for the rebuild kit and you would have a working m/c or a spare.

I just hate to toss it out.

Even if someone wants it to use as a core exhange and get the 10-15 bucks back...

 

$10+$15=$25 for a M/C that needs rebuilt...a re manufactured master cost $20 with no core charge. Why not wrap it in newspaper and throw in in the garbage can or take it to the recycle place and get 15 cents.

Hmmm. I guess when you pay $250 for a new Wilwood, you forget how cheap the O'Reilly rebuilds are.

You could allways plant some posies in it and call it a planter...

 

I think I paid $18 at Advance Auto Parts for one.

Oh, it doesn't work anymore. It is in DIRE need of a rebuild. Actually, it is pretty much shot at this point.

How is the improvement in stopping performance over the past units? Im considering a change soon and have one other option at this point besides the Wildwood.
