The rear brakes are not as firm as the front brakes, so if you mash the brakes and nail the gas, the rear tires will start to spin before the front brakes let you move.

It works better if you install a line lock which is an electric solenoid mounted in the front brake line between the master cylinder and the front brakes. Mash the brakes, hold the button, and let off the brakes. Now the front brakes still have full pressure on them because the line is blocked by the line lock, but the rear brakes are fully released. Mash the gas and go through as many gears as you want and whatever rpms you want. Let off the button and the car will start to move.

The line lock is the silver thing at the left side of the picture, mounted to the shock tower.

It pauses the video for like 10 seconds and says Swearing in the video.

pay close attention to your rear tires in the mirror to make sure they are spinning or you will be spending a lot of money on new parts

    here is a good video

What happened to that camaro? That could have been REALLY bad.

I don't know what is wrong with these guys. You can hear the tires screeching when doing a burnout. If I didn't hear my tires break loose, I would stop revving it.

That and most times, the rear end swims side to side a little while the tires are spinning.

Burnouts are more than just smoke and noise, there are all kinds of tactile sensations that let you know when it is all going the way it is supposed to. So none of these "idiot" videos should ever have occurred if they guys behind the wheel were paying more attention to their car and the burnout and less to the video camera.

A little water helps. My car won't break loose and spin on dry pavement, but with a damp surface, it does fine.
