I've probably posted some dumb questions, especially in the beginning. I would have posted a hell of a lot more dumb questions though, if I wasn't already familiar with the search concept.

The thing about "dumb" questions... Invariably they have already been asked. You can avoid looking/feeling like a newb if you just look around a bit.

I started out asking a ton of dumb questions. Graduated to just dumb responses now.

I had a teacher in high school that always said "there are no stupid questions, just stupid people". I fall within that category. :rofl2:

I think I had that same teacher, he was my wood shop teacher. He would always say most of you are as dumb as a block of wood. But then again I was always the kid getting hit with the block of wood for doing something stupid. So I guess most of the time I was dumber then the block of wood...:hmmm:......I sure am glad I grow up:rofl2:

Punch cards. Paper cards with holes in them, used to store absurdly small amounts of data for rendering crude games of Hangman and for guiding Apollo spacecraft. To load a program into a prehistoric mainframe, cavemen would feed "decks" of them one at a time into a reader. Get 'em out of order and they would jump around and club random things in fits of rage then start over. These existed before CDs, floppy disks, vinyl tape and copper engravings. Moses transcribed the Ten Commandments onto stone tablets from the original punch cards handed down by God, who then made the first Christmas tree out of them since they became obsolete at that point.

    (how's that for a thread jack?:hide:)

My dad brought home some "obsolete" punch cards from a CNC machine at work. That was back in 1978. They were already obsolete and ancient by then.
