Cool picture, couple of Comet. Looks like they were put on the lot without hubcaps so no one stole them..

    Cool picture...

    A buddy in college had a Capri like that ... hot-rodded a bit ... small 4 bbl/header ... fun car even if it was just a V6.

I'll bet that 2 door Monarch ( Ghia ?) inside the showroom was a fairly rare car. Probably had the nice console and buckets in it too ... (y).

Even the bashed 4 door on the street is a Merc.

Too bad there is that Firebird in the picture ... I had one for a very short time ...Worst car I have ever owned ... (the "FireTurd")

I remember cars at my Dad's dealership back in the 1970's. None of them had hubcaps on them. They were in the trunk. Not sure why they were left off. I have a picture of the front row of the dealership taken from the road. Front row is full of brand new 1965 Mustangs.....none of them with hubcaps.

I wonder if it was so the buyer could choose the hubcap style - or maybe like what was already mentioned, so know one would steal them. :hmmm:

This is a very cool picture. (y)

Cool. I remember shopping with my Dad for a new car in 76. We drove a Capri just like that one but it was too small for the 4 of us. Went to Bill Perrin motors in St.Catharines and drove a 302 Monarch quite a distance then came back and got into a beautiful Cougar that was more than he wanted to spend but he fell in love with it. A light metallic blue 2 door with a blue landau roof. I remember helping him polish all the chrome on that car and thinking how beautiful chrome looks all shiny against the blue paint. Even at 7 years old I had a love affair for cars.
He ended up trading in the Cougar in 79 for a Rabbit. :hmmm: Fuel economy.:( I was really impressed by how quick and nimble the Rabbit felt compared to the big Cougar but it just didnt give me the butterflies like all the chrome and lines of the cougar. (y)

thanks for another cool pic. of the old dealer lots, the dealers lots just didn't have much to offer when I got out of high school in 87, then into the army.... maybe thats why I like seeing the older ones so much now... didn't pay much attention then...
