I'm gonna be running some wires for the MSD since the wires provided aren't long enough. The instructions say to run one gauge thicker if extending the wires.
From the diagram below the only thing that doesn't make sense is the white wire. I have 2 wires coming from my distributor, what I do with the other wire and which wire does the the white one hook up to?

Same setup I am running, I think. 2 wires on the pertronix?

Black from dizzy to the white msd wire.
red from dizzy to small screw, left side of starter solenoid.
small red msd wire to small screw, left side of starter solenoid.
large red msd wire to battery hot big screw on starter solenoid.
big black msd to chassis ground.
orange msd to positive screw on coil.
small black msd to negative screw on coil.

Then tach is hooked to the blade in the front of the msd, opposite side of all the other wires.

The white wire will be spliced directly to the black wire and the red wire will be taken off the coil along with the wire coming from the ignition switch and spliced togther. There will be two new wires fom the msd going to your new coil.

ok thanks guys. I've been busy with work, all the older guys get to be on vacation so us young bucks have to work. I'm gonna be off Tue so gonna try and see if I can run the wires at least and do the hook up later.

So I need an ignition source to the distributor and one to the MSD box if I am not mistaken. Here is the way I think it needs to be wired. I'm gonna leave the cable that goes to the laptop on the MSD box since I'm sure I'm gonna be making a lot of changes to the program setting in the beginning.

it is working for me very well. I haven't noticed a power difference or anything. but i got this unit mostly to be able to program it for a future supercharger and for my nitrous retarding.
