Sold my High school car about 20 years ago and just bought it back. She is rough condition but still has all the goods I installed when I built her. 71 Mercury Comet Fully built 351 Cleveland 4 speed toploader 9" rear narrow early ford one 52.25 backing plate to backing plate Still has my skinny fronts and rear slicks (tires are shot) on old school slots. Lots of plans! Stay tuned, I have a couple other projects to finish up and then I will start on it. Here it was back in 1985, pay no attention to that Punk standing beside it. Here is what I built after it was gone. Here she is now, Really rough! Sad Tunnel Ram and 2 4's gone! Looks like some staggard injectors will be in order. Lots to do, just glad to own it again!
Pretty rough, Will have to get pics of it way back and the pics of how it looks now, it has been parked for a long time.
I am too, Not to many guys get the chance to buy back their high school car. I am ver lucky. I have not picked it up yet but when i do I will post pics. She needs work. Its a long story but as far as performace stuff goes. I sold it and bought a 79 mustang pace car with a 302, went crazy modding it with top loader, turbo running 18lbs boost and 9" rear, sold that, searching for it every since. OH had a 67 fast back mustang in there some place, thats on my should have never sold it list too. Still have a bone stock 66 mustang 289 coupe. Got into harleys, have 2 1940 knuckleheads, one running one in mid project. Current build is a 97 Lexus SC400, this is the craziest build yet. Its engine is on the stand but i hope to have it back together soon. Its a 4.7L tundra block with all forged internals, ported lexus heads with over sized valves, custom ground kelford cams, has a air over water cooled Whipple on top with a plan for 20lbs boost. Behind it is a getrag 6 speed and a LSD rear. The car is crazy over the top with 14"stoptech brakes, slamed on 20's ( I have some Bogarts for drag too) It would literally take me a hour to list all the mods. but this is not a lexus Forum so I am sure you guys could really give a rip. LOL
Welcome back to the Madness! It is certainly refreshing to read about someone recovering their first car. Good luck with it and have a great time! Jim
