of driving your classic car on the streets and highways. On Jan. 19th, I was in Macon on I16. A lady 4 cars ahead jams the brakes for no apparent reason, and sent a half dozen cars into slides and fits. To keep from hitting a truck in the passenger door (with a lady in the seat), I went left and into the guard rail. It wasn't as bad as I thought, and with great friends, Frank (71gold), Jeff (rthomas771) and a Nate (also a great body and paint artist) the car is up and running and looking better than ever. Also, Hagerty insurance was great, and was more concerned with taking care of me and my car than the money it took to fix it. I wasn't hurt, nor was anyone else, so all is well. Here are a few before and after pics.
Here a couple from the completed repair, with the new wheels!!! There was a lot of damage under the car (strut rods, valence and filler, bumper, core support pushed in, fan messed up, etc.), so it took a bit to fix it. Very happy with the results!
Wow that sucks!! But it just shows what proper collector car insurance does for you. I'm glad you came out of it ok..
Yeah, Hagerty is the only insurance I'll have on my cars. They still call and ask if everything is ok. And yes, Justin, I am glad the hood survived. The way that insurance companies buy parts would have made it a very expensive repair if it had gotton smashed. But, not a scratch on it. Everything below the hood got lunched!
Those are the Summit brand Legend 5, 15X7 and BFG tires. I think it looks better on my particular car than the wheels I had.
Looks Stunning! love the wheels I'm going to give Hagerty a call when i get my maverick on the road again.
Sorry for the mishap Earl, but looks like it went back together great! And those wheels absolutely change the looks of the car! Love them!
lol awesome i've been saving to buy those exact wheels, they look so awesome on your car man, also which color are they the silver or gunmetal
