Some guy a work offered me $1,000 for my '72 beater. Don't think so. I could part the car out for more then twice that, easy.

I had a couple come in to where I work one time and ask me if I was interested in sellin my car. I told them no and that I plan on keepin it for a long time but they asked me how much it would take for me to sell it, so I said a ridiculous number like $20,000 so they would leave me alone but they were actually considering it. I don't know why they wanted it so bad, but it seems that money wasn't too big of an issue for them.

I've also ran into the guy I bought mine from a few times and every time I see him he asks me if I will sell it back to him since he misses it so much. I told him if I ever do sell it, which is unlikely, I will call him up first and let him have first dibs on it.

A couple years ago where I used to work, I had an older guy offer me $10,000 for mine, I respectly declined. Being that it's my first car, and there's still alot I want to do to it. If I was all about money and if he would have came though on his offer, it would have been smart for me to take it, because I don't have nearly that much in it.

    Persistant Buyer

I bought my Mav from California and had it shipped to me in Ohio last summer. On the day it was going to be delivered, I received a call on my cell phone from a number I didn't recognize. The guy on the other end of the phone asks me if I want to sell my Maverick. I told him "Hell No. I haven't even seen it in person yet." This guy was driving the opposite way down the expressway and passed the hauler with my car on it. He did a U-turn in the median and chased the truck down. He eventually waved, honked, swerved, and yelled enough to get the driver to pull over. He badgered the driver to sell him the car so much, that the truck driver eventually gave him my number to let him get back on the road. The guy begged me to let him come over and see the car after it was delivered, but I told him no. I eventually let him come over after he called he for about two weeks straight. He never did make me a formal offer because I pretty adamant that I had no interest in selling the car.

It's a good thing my wife never answered the phone on one of his many attempts or I might have been looking for another car :D
