It would be a cool car to restore, pretty simple to do it.

The Mavericks just replaced the Falcons as service vehicles. I remember both models being used at the same time! I'm not sure when the Falcon line was dropped, but both were produced together for a couple of years.:)

best idea i have heard yet, that would be awesome to pull in on cruise night. park smack dab in the middle of the GM crowd too :) heck you gotta have a fake 45 bolted to the dash too. few ammo boxes in back seat you could have alot fun hooking the props up.

I grew up on military bases almost everywhere until 1979 when I got out of high school. I have seen many what are now "special interest cars" the LTD's the brass used to drive. Torinos where big too almost always 4 doors. Many of these vehicles ended up on the target ranges and looked like flattened swiss cheese. If you did live around a base u did see many used car dealers scoop them up at auctions 10-20 at a time. The real sellers were the pickups and big boy 3 axle rigs.

Anyhow even with all that I can't recall a Maverick, might have been caused by several years driving Chevelles and Camaros etc until I smartened up and bought my first Mustang, been a Ford man ever since.

Thanx for the pics and flashbacks .

I'm guessing that car is the equivilant to the modern day GSA gov't vehicles I deal with daily. Nothing special other than the color and the oddity factor. So yeah, part it out or throw it on a 4X4 chassis and make an urban assault vehicle. I vote UAV!

I can remember my grandmother's brother driving a big bumpered light brown 4dr Maverick gov't car when he was pulling recruiter duty for the AF in the early 80's. This is kind of cool.
