Well had a chance to work on my comet today painted it back a few months ago been on this site a few years and one car always grabbed my attention and that's Nick's grabber it's medium yellow with ginger interior. Well I chose this color because I liked it so much well after painting it I have found this color has a very shadowing effect and seems washed out in the bright sun light. I got carried away and laid down way to nice of paint and now second guessing myself with the color choice please feel free to give me some input on this thanks Brian.

You are right. looks like crap. I hope you only put $500 into that paint job. Looks like it.

    Just kidding!
Seriously, that is a nice color and looks like it laid down very well. Looks like a classic color with a bit of "modernization" added to it to make it look less like a 70s car. I would KILL to have mine look that nice!

    Don't regret it at all!!!

Personally... I think the color does a great job of accentuating the cars contours. The shadowing brings out the cars character lines and adds a level of dimension you dont get with other colors.
If it were mine... I would finish it off with Comet GT stripe down the side in black, the blacke out treatment on the hood and a set of body color steelies with dog dish hubcaps. That car looks damn good, you should be proud not remorseful, you made a good choice if you ask me.

I really like it. Bright colors just seem to be right on these small cars.

Wait a little while to see how the sun may cause the paint to change some more and you have to polish after all that.

It may help blend things better.

I think once you get the graphics on the car it will have a different appearance. I assume ur going w/ graphics of some kind. The color looks ok to me.
I think most of us second guess things related to color/trim combo's. Im having my seat covers made and varied a little from what most on this forum thought I shud do. I hope I don't regret it. There is a big difference in work, money and time in what you have done in a paint job compared to seatcovers.
Paint jobs there to stay -- Seatcovers can be changed in a few hours.
The car looks OK to me. Is that a vintage Ford color?

Plus once you get your chrome door handles, side markers, grill, bumpers, tail lights etc, I'm sure it will all come together - I like the color and the paint job looks so smooooth :thumbs2:

once you get it back together it will be much better. I did a yellow car and when I got done I was not happy. But once lights, grill, door handles etc etc where put on it help break up the yellow. Looks good.

I see what you mean with the sunlight. I do think that if you break it up with a stripe it would help. I think that color really accents the nice body lines though. Pretty sure you'll be happier when its all assembled. I say good choice on the color.
I remember when I got my panels all back on. My first thought was wow thats way too much blue. The car got lost in a big sea of blue. I kind of second guessed the color at that time. Once it all went together and especially when the stripe went on it was a totally different look.

If you really dont like it I'd be happy to come and pick it up so it no longer bothers you.LOL.

I love that color, once it's together, it'll look totally different.

Well If you don't like it maybe you could sell it to "French's" Mustard company as a show car LOL..

Seriously though I'm Not much of a yellow guy but I think once you get some stripes and chrome on the car it will look good.
