i would toss the stuff in the trunk and leave it on the side of the road rather than change a tire...
I like it. Saw a hitch set up very much like that on a '70 in the junkyard once. I should have got it, but it only would have worked with a drop-in gas tank.
That is the same style of hitch that was put on the first generation Mustangs. I think they are rated at 1000 gvw. It would handle a small utility trailer.
I have a reciever style hitch, I just need to figure out how to adapt and mount it. I looked at the project the other day but haven't come up with any solution yet.
I was thinking of welding 1/8" x 3" angle iron to the rear subframes and then bolting a receiver hitch to that with cross bars between them. It will be easier on my Mustang because there won't be a gas tank in the way. I want at least a class II hitch and maybe a class III.
The hitch that I have is rated at 3500 lbs which is plenty for the trailers I want to pull with it. I just need to get the creative juices flowing a little more.
