TEN...that's how many days till the mini-meet in PHX! im sure everyone can tell i am excited about it. for a lot of you guy's, this is just another car show per say. but i have never been a part of a show. i have attended many, never been on the other side. and even though my car wont be ready, this will be my prelude to next years meeting of the mav's. Iam so sure this will be a positive meet that i am looking forward to next years event NOW!

    See you on the 19th,
    Rick

Rick I put your patchs in the mail this morning. I am pretty excited for this too. I could be wrong but all I can think of is Don and myself that have been around since the old board and we have never set up anything like this. I think the the only people I have met in the last 16 years or so that I've been in the maverick community is Gene and Mavtricks71 (I can never remember his name but he is always mad I took the spoiler off his car before he had a chance to buy it 16 year ago :D) Soo this has been a long time coming for me and I guess I got tired of waiting for it to happen.

And who says you will have to wait till next year for the next one? It's not like we are all that far away, we can do it again in the fall :thumbs2:

I dont think i can pull it all together by the fall, funds are too tight. but if there is a fall meet, you can rest assured i will attend.

also i would like to do a food drive with it. non parrishable. we will talk more about that later. it's something that drives me crazy, people going hungry, just insane!

if it's running, thats all right by me. i am a firm beliver that it does not have to be show quality for me to enjoy it. that's the great thing about living in AZ. you have so many sweet old rides on the streets. my wife cant stand to ride with me in the truck! "Did you see that" "check out that old ford".

Maybe im just not as smart as i think you think i am and am really not knowing how to make this car thing start to giddyup when i turn the key rotator and nothing starts the smoke machine out of the tailpipe? I thought Don was going to hook up his welder to get my 9 volt batteries in my remote on my key chain to get this car going but i think he welded the wrong keys cause i wasnt home when he got there.

I agree no reason it has to only be a once a year thing, alot of us go out to the track but seems like different times. That could easily be turned into a mini meet, or another show it is phx and there is probably 25+ shows a week scattered across the valley, even a pizza night, mod day (where everyone works on cars at someones location).

Look at a group like copperstate mustang club, they are ALWAYS doing something from charity events, food drives as Rick mentioned, cruises, get togethers for dinner, car shows ETC ETC ETC. Them guys do just about anything to get out and enjoy there cars and good company. THATS how there group gets so big and members. Cause they actually get out and other people get interested.

And I do understand we all do have lifes and responsibilities to our families, but there is no reason for a get together not to happen just because a couple guys can't make it. Theres always the next get together.

When we are notified a little in advance plans can be made to work and then its not a hurry up and leave for our families and they know that something is going on such and such a day.

I also encourage people bring there families to these types of events, there was a GREAT article in hot rod a few years ago about bringing kids to car shows just to keep our hobby alive. And I truley believe it is needed, these are people that will be voting in years to come, expose them to it so they see our side of the story when they try to start getting our cars off road cause not eco friendly.

    END NOVEL LOL:tiphat:

boy if i was drinking right now one of two things would have happened.
1- bourbon would have shot out my nose.
2-i would be scratching my head trying to decipher what ryan just said.

    maybe i better pour one!:drink:
