Thanks for the help in locating this. Is was under the front seat up in the springs. Now I have the original Title, Build Sheet and the cards from the dealer that everything was writen on. Thanks again Rick
Ummm, that's not a build sheet.. STAP, is St.Thomas Assembly Plant. Looks, like a sorta mini build sheet, maybe used to make sure the seats made it into the right car. I've never seen one of those.
If you end up still wanting a build sheet, and can't find the original one... You can get one from Kevin Marti....at Marti Auto Works. They are located right out here in El Mirage, Arizona....in the west Phoenix valley. Alot of members on here have purchased these. I guess Ford was going to get rid of alot of their build archives years ago...and Kevin bought a range of years from the late 60's into the 70's. It looks like Marti has added a few repo parts for Mavs too....but nothing I haven't seen in other places.
Another fun fact. By the STAP mark there is a form date of May 70 - and the Maverick body codes have spots for the Grabber 62D and the 54A for a 4 door, which were not used until the 71 model year.
I hired in, in the seat department of Wayne assembly plant in '77. Every sub assembly department had a teletype broadcast machine that tells what to build for every rotation one after the other all day. Codes tell kind of seat, fabric, color and so on. After seats are built up the last guy took the "build sheet" and tucked it under the one of the seats. At transfer to the final line the install worker was to check rotation numbers to verify a match then remove the ticket. Most of the time they just installed the seats without checking and left the tickets under the seats. Most of the time everything was ok but not always. I used to build up bucket seats and split bench on the Granada and Monarch it was difficult.
After seeing this post it took me awhile to remember where I put the sheet I found in the seat springs of my car last year when I took the car apart. Well I found it tonite and it looks like another mini build sheet has surfaced. I did how ever lose the upper left corner. Here is the scan of the one from my car. My car was also from Canada and has factory air with dark tinted windows. Looks like this sheet was for the air and tint. The letters A/C is written in the lower remarks section and above that is the numbers 276070, tint is X'd and accent or fold is also X'd what ever that meant.
