I have a 70 maverick with a rusty seized engine, looks like it could be a grabber version, but the thing is pretty much in 'project condition' . What do you guys think?
no its worth less just give it to me and i will take care of it for you!!! j/k. its definitly worth something. put it on craigs list for $500 and it should sell fast.
Sneaky way of trying to buy a car for $500. the spoiler is damaged so that kind of sucks. But it has the Sport steering wheel in pretty good shape. Some guys would love to have that. If you are asking what its worth then we would need to know more about potential rust to determine value. Hmm, it needs a trunk spoiler, a tailight, and a grill. I have all that in the attic. I'd throw it all togethor and drive the little six cylinder car the way it is. Just noticed the gas cap. Thats a nice piece too. Being a California car it should be in good shape underneath. I'll give ya $501.
If it was here, I'd give you a grand for it. If the floors and trunk are solid. Someday I'm going to buy a 5th wheel car trailer, and drive to California, and buy as many Mavericks as I can squeeze on the trailer.
I got my rust free '74 Comet with running 302 w/factory A/C for $900 since it looked worse than it was. If it has leaky cowls and rusty floors it will need a lot of work. Ask what you feel is fair.
What part of Cali are you in? Actually that's not the sport steering wheel it's the Rim Blow one. Which is much rarer than the sport one
I'm up north of sacramento in Chico, CA. I'm not sure if I want to sell it yet, i'm just wondering what a collector might pay for it. It doesn't have much rust on it, just the engine it looks like.
And put them where??? I'm glad I dont have any more room for cars or I'd end up with a bunch of them and a ton of A#$ kissin to the wife.
great start for sure. engine is the easy part, anyone can do/learn imo...and with the body being rust free you are off and running! listen to the guy's on this forum, they wont steer you wrong. there is no doubt value in your car, first full year of the maverick and a grabber to boot! don't part it out, restore it or give someone the opportunity to do so...too many of these cars have been taken apart all ready. good luck.
