    more fuel for the fire!

This attitude seems to be the norm from most of the none "DIY's", who have never had to turn a wrench in their lives, let alone take the time to build what most so called, "hotrodders", will consider a lost cause, they would rather just buy a hot rod, ready built. I think that this is because Ford had never gave the Maverick a fair chance. Ford never gave any attempt to improve the car, (other than a weak V8, and disk brakes). Instead their interest's were soley on furthering the life span of their "muscle car", the Mustang, but we all know that not all Mustangs were muscle cars, were they? The Maverick has, and will forever, be the "under dog". It is the car that could have been,..if given the same attention as the Mustang. This is why it has such a personal following. The work was left up to us, the one's who have some attachment to these cars. For those of us that know this and have put in the wrench time to improve their cars wear a great smile every time we see that "look" that comes accross a person's face when they see one on the road, or at the track, when one passes them!:burnout:

I posted a reply... somewhat satiracally. His opinion is the general public perception of the Mav/Comet... I live in Westside Los Angeles, and everybody drives drives an Axis car. (German/Jap/Italy) But I do get folks tell me randomly.... "that is a really great car...!" and it makes my day.
Do you think he's getting an eye opener? Everybody post on his blog!!! Tell him a posse is being formed right now and a herd of Mavs are going to descend on his greeny Prius luvin ass like a swarm of locusts and devour him whole!!

Dave, you and Darren had well written responses. As for the others, they made the Maverick community look like trailer trash dirtbags. Those types of comments do more to hurt the Maverick image than anything that guy posted.

yeah, the ones that don't talk **** will always be more respectable then ones that do and make a group look better. but to be fair i would've wrote one of the bad responses at the time cause i was a bit annoyed by the article. but i decided to just not comment instead of making a rude comment

Hmmm. None of this seems to have affected Della one bit. She is still waiting patiently for me to paint her and drive the snot out of her.

She doesn't appear to have any hurt feelings about ANY of this.

Not to offend any of our forum-rachero lovers... but i can't take anything serious from an enthusiast who drives a ranchero... the only thing worse ford built in my opinion is the edsel, and at least it had a sortof cool looking front end... :p

    "i'm a truck, i'm a torino, i'm a truck" -best friend impersonation of 73' ranchero
