I was wondering if i can get some advice, I had an intake manifold leak so I decided to change the gaskets. When i removed the intake manifold some antifreeze got in the heads wetting some of the spark plugs. I waited til the next day to let it dry but no luck, i ran my compressor air hose to dry it up some more, but i guess there is still some residue, is there any other way to get the antifreeze out? Thanks
Pull the spark plugs and spin the engine over to blow the coolant out of the cyl bores...Then clean/dry the plugs and reinstall.(good time to replace the plugs if you havent) You will get some smoke out the tail pipe till the coolant burns off. PS: If you got enough coolant in the ports to wet plugs down, you got enough in the crank case to warrant changing the oil.
xylene will remove the coolant from your plugs but you are better off replacing them if they aren't new.
X2, 50/50 water/coolant is electrically conductive as well and I always change the oil after a repair that puts coolant any where it may have contaminated the oil.
Thanks guys, I replaced the plugs and changed the oil. The timing was off, I got it running again, thanks for your help.
