Took it out for a cruise now that I got the ignition bugs worked out.

I thought the late afternoon/low sun angle allowed for some decent shots.

Very Nice! As much as I rag on Comets, the front ends do look really nice (classy) when the car is a certain color. I've had 2 red Comets, and they didn't look as nice as yours.

(now if only the tranny will hold when I go for a T&T in a couple weeks...it will see 550 sprayed horses.)

    Muffler upgrade

The ignition problem turned out to be a bad diode in the CDI harness.
The resulting backfire took out the drivers side muff (the 17 year old Flowmasters didn't stand a chance).

The explosion was brutally powerful as you can see by the breach in the lower section.

It seemed a good time to upgrade to the new Dynomax VT's.

They are slightly quieter despite going from 2.25" to 2.5" pipes.
But probably the best thing about 'em is they don't resonate like the Flows are notorious for doing (plus they have a very high cfm rating).

F-masters definitely have their own unique sound, while the Dyno's have more of a traditional "muscle car" almost glass pack type sound.

Chunk of foam cupboard lining acting as burn-out roost guards.
