Hey Maverick Man, revisiting an old topic here. I was just wondering if there has ever been enough "interest" in developing the end caps to fit the big bumpers cars so we can purchase your Grabber rear spoilers? Just seems like a potential to broaden the overall rear spoiler product line and re-capture some initial investment. Again, not sure how much interest you've received....

i can still make spoilers but really if i did them they would be in an pre-preg autoclave vacumed process about 10xs better then what i did before. infact this would probably be the only way i would do it now to avoid inconsitant issues. problem... very, very costly! i'd have to retail them for about $600 plus! about $475 for fiberglass. but these would be made really good! if you want to see what i am capable of check my other website here maverickmancarbon [dot] com

now nothing was wrong with the older way and the older spoilers that everyone got and have in hand now. however there were a lot of ones that i didn't feel right sending out so i ended up with a bunch of ones i wasn't satified with. so cost vs time wasn't worth it to me.

so will someone pay $600 for a spoiler.

i want to see hands! bueller? ferris bueller?

as i thought. i don't think so. so we are back to route one. i may do them again one day the older hand laid way but i doubt it will be anytime soon.

then again i have been getting alot of new people asking about them which is the whole jumpping on the maverick band wagon.

I would like a big bumper set also. I would probably make molds and make fiberglass ones if I came across a set. It's been alot of years but I used to make and install spoilers and make molds for a company named Spoilers R Us. It is time consuming as he mentioned.. More time means better quality. When the mold does not come out right that's a chunk of money wasted too.
Sure wish I had gotten a carbon spoiler when they were around. :(..

    Blu,

You know what would be cool, to make the spoiler the same as the Grabber one, only have it extend up higher and be more pronounced. That's the only gripe I have with the factory ones, they were a bit too conservative. When you look at the spoilers on some other cars of that era (especially the '78 Firebird comes to mind, being that it's similar in design to the Grabber one), Ford could have taken it up a notch when they designed the original spoiler. I'm not talking something too "out there" and gaudy, just with a little more attitude...

    Maverick Man,

I understand your dilemma, and yeah $600 is more than most would be willing to pay. I think everyone here appreciates all the time and effort into what you've already done, and understand that it has to be profitable for you as well. Does this hold true with you offering the fiberglass parts as well (which is what I'd want anyway so I could paint it body color), would they need to be "pre-preg autoclave vacuumed process" for you to do them?

Keep us up to date as to what the future holds on these kind of projects....

Totaly agree. When you mention the Firebird spoiler I recall seeing two styles. One is for the Z28 if I'm not mistaken. I have seen both on either tho. The one I like is the one that seems to wrap at the ends. The other is kinda pointed. Next person who does these should consider going a little taller.. I am thinking about 1.5" or even 2"..

to get shape right yes they would have to be in pre preg and in pre preg fiberglass. still would cost a lot as well.

Are they all gone? I've got a rusted hood and this would be a sweet replacement.

I would also like to know if there are any carbon fiber graber hood left. Mine got a small dent in the front lip in a parking lot the other day and the estimates to get it fixed are a little over 500.00. I might as well go with c/f for a few more bucks. please let me know in the near future. Send me a pm. thanks.:drive:
