ran starter wires... damn thing was 4 inches too short, so back to auto zone and purchased a new one. still working on my comet even with bronchitis. trying to get it finished. i ordered the rear flexible ss braided brake lines for my disc brake conversion. had custom lines made to go from the metal lines to the banjo fittings on the 98 explorer brakes. comes with metal tabs to weld onto the axle tube to hold the one end :)

I walked outside looked at it and got pissed off. Bought a replacement Shee-mar turn signal assembly on ebay 2 weeks ago and it still hasnt shown up. Contacted the seller monday and he said he didnt realize he was out of stock and is drop shipping one too me, it was suppoesd to be here yesterday.
But because of this I have no rear turn signals on my drivers side so I cant pass the safety inspection, yes its shorted out in the column, I checked all the wires, ran new grounds ect ect the only place it doesnt have a good connection is the unit itself.

But the thing that pisses me off the most is his ebay ad still says he has 3 in stock:mad:

Bought the last of the parts for my manual transmission swap. Ordered the hydraulics and picked up my clutch set and flywheel. Just waiting for the last of the stuff to get here so I can bolt it up and start working on brackets and hoses.

Yay my turn signal switch finally showed up:dance: got it almost all the way in before I had to go to work.

Then I did the most painful part of the project... I forked over the $$$ and ordered a borgeson unit to get rid of my factory power steering.:thumbs2:

I drove my blue 4-door to work today. About 130 miles total for the day....about $30 in gas. Not sure if it was worth it. :D

I washed my car today and drove it to car show. We had 83 temps and sunny all day w/ same for entire wkend. Will be riding all wkend - Won't be long B4 snow will be upon us. Forecasters predict nasty winter in my area.

Tell us how it was to install? Im thinkin abt that unit. I talked to a Borgesen rep. abt it at the Nat. Street Rod Show in Kalamazoo, MI. Sept. 16th. and like the concept. I want to keep my pwr steering and that looks like the best way to go if ur not willing to change the entire frt end. My pwr steer pump whines and can't seem to stop it - so the Borgesen unit is in my nr future. I talk to a guy who had installed them in several Stangs and said everybody he had put one in for - were well pleased w/ the results. He had one in the car "Stange" he had in the show.

Started tearing the front end apart so I can rebuild it. Took the drivers side drum breaks off the front to prepare for a disc break upgrade.

I will try and take lots of pics, it will be a couple weeks sad to say. But your right there is not too much information on these gearboxes, I was only able to find one install (by flynbrd http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=78172&highlight=borgeson) but no feedback on how good they perform yet.

As a note I have one of the newer power steering pumps on my car now and that toned down the original pressure a little bit but the car is still really touchy at any speed over 30mph. So I am really hoping this works good I want the power steering so my wife can drive the car if need be and other then going rack and pinion this was the only other viable option.

    Gauges and Pic to Gene

FINALLY got the guage set installed. AutoMeter 2 1/16 oil press, H2O temp, and volts added to the trans temp gauge in the dash tray. Was a lot more tedious than I expected. Hard to mount the bezel after gauges are installed and hard to install the gauges after bezel is mounted.

Yesterday my neighbor and friend did another photo shoot of the Sprint with new Cragars and BFG TAs. Just sent candidate pics for the 2012 calendar to Gene.

Guess Happy Hour comes early today. :thumbs2:
