Has anyone used this on a Maverick that came with an inline 6? I did a 302 swap and have bought one from Autokrafters for my transmission to use dual exhaust and was wondering what you did to get it to fit properly. Please let me know.

I supplied the tranny crossmember that was used as a pattern for that piece. It should be a straight bolt on. Might require some slight modification if you are installing it on a 1970 Maverick.

Mines on a 73 ford Maverick. The crossmember is too small it doesnt line up with the holes that are there already. I can get one side to go on, but the other side is off by 2 inchs. Pretty sure I will have to drill out some new holes. I just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.

Sounds like they sent you the wrong one.

I have a factory crossmember if you want one. Email me directly (see below) if I can help.

I've got to drop the tranny again and take it to the transmission shop for a rebuild. I will see if that crossmember I have works again. Last time I tried it was night time and dark. Im pretty sure the holes wouldnt line on both sides. Its been several months and I doubt autokrafters will take it back. That would be $100.00 down the drain. If it doesnt fit, I might just buy it from you. How much would you let it go for?

IIRC, there's two sets of holes on one side of the tunnel, passenger side I believe. You don't have it in the upper hole on that side do you? I'm thinking that upper hole is for the 6 cyl crossmember.....

On the passenger side I have upper holes. Thats where the exhaust went and it was curved on the crossmember, on the drivers side it went straight across.

Sorry lond day at work. So there should be one side with 1 hole and the other side has two sets of holes? If im understanding this right i just need to make sure its in the v8 crossmember holes and not the inline 6 holes?

Right. IIRC, it should line up with the bottom holes on both sides. That upper hole is for the 6 cyl crossmember, which turns up on one end.

I dont think there was three sets of holes on my maverick, but I could be mistaken. I found this picture of another maverick here that shows both sets. I will check this when I get home. I have attached the picture.

Thanks! I did have another hole in the tranny tunnel. It was just covered up with crap. Scraped it off and everything lined up. Let's hope this other transmission that I just got works!

I didn't know that pic was still kicking around. Thats my old car with my homemade crossmember. That was a huge pain. Bought a tubular one from 71gold this time around.
