What did you do to your Maverick or Comet today

    cut my shock towers...patched a few places in the engine bay..picked up my hookers/ took my 9" in to get shortened (get it back in a couple days) waiting to weld the shock towers up though...instead of welding in 2 peices in for the plate for the towers ill take it into the shop and bend it so i just end up with the weld along the outside.

    What I was taught years ago is that metal prep removes the layer of oxygen on bare metal before priming (wipe on with lint free towel)...but as Hotrodbob said it will remove rust if left on the metal for a period of time.:thumbs2:

    I have surface rust too. I was getting ready to repaint mine will the right color paint from NPD but it is junk. So thin it won't cover.

    I've got the next month and a half booked with work, so if I didn't do it today, the good weather may get away from me...I even closed my pool today :(

    I stored mine away for the time being. I have to work 6 day weeks for the next month then I'm going on vacation. I'll do what I can but I don't see me having alot of spare time for awhile.

    *also wanted to just get it inside. There's been a rash of old cars stolen for scrap here lately. They got a 72 Mustang within a mile from me last week.

    Still driving mine but closed the pool 3 weeks ago. I drive mine until freezing temps then its gone before the salt hits the roads.

    My grabber is the orange on white, orange on the dash and interior. I don't even want to think of trying to paint the dash so I hope the rust restorer idea works without damaging the paint. The rust isn't terrible, but annoying.
