    lock Cylinders

I just replaced two (2) door lock and one (1) trunk lid lock cylinder (total of three (3) lock cylinders) and I'm about to replace the Ignition lock cylinder OR the ignition switch assembly or possibly both. As of this moment the door and trunk locks work well but the ignition lock cylinder is not rotating in the steering column, it may well be the ignition switch on the steering column beneath the dash or the linkage joining them, I'll find out tomorrow.
Had any of Y'all had problems of this nature? Any recommendations?

incorrect key...or maybe the...steering wheel lock...has it jammed, try to rotate the steering wheel back and forth as you turn the key...may be a linkage adjustment needed...:yup:

71gold...The vehicle, 1971 Comet had been impounded and stored in an outdoor compound. I've been applying WD-40 to the Ignition lock in the steering column for three days, it MAY just need more time. I plan on disconnecting the ignition switch from the linkage at the switch in the column today, if that frees-up the key lock in the column I intend to replace the ignition switch that is mounted at a ten o'clock position on the steering column under the dash (if/when I find one). If I cant find an OER switch assy I'll consider relocating the switch to elsewhere on the dash and remove the wirring and the column locking hardware , (but I'd rather keep the vehicle in original configuration). I live in Cedar Creek Texas and be contacted at kagraveliii@yahoo.com or (512)589-2600. Currently the key will enter the lock cylinder but it only rotates 0.25 inch in either direction. I hope this works, I don't want it to end up looking the dash in a race car!...kafrompa ("Garv")
    PS: I appreciate your responce.

Installed my new computer and finally got the air fuel closer to where i want it... wired up my taurus fan... adjusted my clutch to where it needs to be... installed my drivers side bucket seat...

was running a tbird computer with my fox harness which is pinned differently... which was causing my car to run way too lean... installed and a9p and it smoothed right out...

spent more time on the clutch then anything else and more than i wanted to due to an oversight on the installation but one quick call to CNC Brakes and problem was solved....

made the spacers and all needed for my early fox seats to go in and bolted it in...

next on the agenda is wiring my head lights and front turn signals and takin it for a ride.... :drive:
