Where can you get a longer yoke to fit a 8" ? I can have a new driveshaft made for $125 using the old tube ends. Changing a pinion yoke will cost close to the same after its all said and done, not counting the trouble and time. Repacing a shaft is a 10 minute job. How long will it take to change a pinion flange, crush sleeve and oil seal?
Not sure if or where you can get one, All I was saying was there's long and short yokes for the 9's. I fgured the 8's may have had these too and that could be a possibility in fixing his problem. Didn't have to be a new yoke either. There's often more than one solution to any problem. And you don't have to do anything other than swap the pinion yoke in this, I've done it many times, no new seal needed (unless you want to put a new one in) or crush sleeve, the sleeve is in there behind the front bearing anyway and as long as you don't over tighten the pinion nut, there's no change there anyway.
