Never said it was a handicap. I've used two barrels as big as 770 cfm.

Really need to read the full set of rules to find out if they are model specific or make specific on the heads.

I wouldn't worry too me about the Jag...It'll probably go out with electrical problem anyways....:rofl2:....Is this just fun, open tracking or real racing?....What are your weight limits?...Start by making it light as possible

Its real racing and I have to be at 1425kg including driver. As for the head I could probslly get away with the boss heads. The carb is allowed to be a 4 barrel as I have a waiver from the club to allow it. :thumbs2:

Love the commet on the Jag, last time it raced it burnt the wiring loom out :)

    Really appreciate all your views.

    Thanks

    Phil

If you got a waiver for a four barrel see if they will allow the Boss heads. If they do....got for it. If they require an inline valve head I'd try the 351 circle track heads from FRPP.

Roush used to saw off the exhaust ports on the cleveland heads and add aluminum port risers increasing exhaust flow on their pro stock cars...This would eventually become the SVO Yates head

Ive run dirt track for a long time and one of our classes we have has a lot of the same rules with some being a little stricter but we usually run a Mexican 302 block, stock 302 crank, stock rods with arp bolts, and forged pistons, we are limited to a flat tapper cam and hyd. Lifters we run a costum cam from howards if u want I can get u the grind no., for heads we run gt40p heads with 2.02I and 1.60E valves with a 650 Holley on a performer rpm intake, we are getting close to 400 hp and about the same amount of torque with a little bit of head porting we do get 400hp and it will pull to 7500rpm

No need to limit yourself to the Mex blocks any more. The only difference between it and the early (pre 1980) blocks is the main caps The beefy main caps can also be found in the D8VE-A3A blocks and the D9OE-E3A blocks. Block weight for all the is the same.

With a .030 or .040 overbore and a 2.02" valve you are shrouding the intake valve. The .060 overbore really lets that size valve breathe properly.
