0-60, What is considered fast?

Does anyone know what the stock 0-60 time for a 302 Maverick is? What would you consider fast? I tested mine with a crappy phone stopwatch app and it was 4.27 seconds. That sounds really quick to me but I have nothing to compare it to.

 

0-60' or 0-60 MPH

are you talking stock 2V...no power adders...stock exhaust...etc...etc.

 

Just in general, 0-60mph. I wanted to know where my car sits compared to stock 2v. Mine has some mods listed in my sig, but not a ton. It gets up and goes for sure. I just wanted to see where it sits on the scale of things.

 

if you break the tires loose on take off, you can get to 60 MPH in 1 sec. on the speedometer.
if you spin on take off it will take longer to get the car to 60 MPH.
the 60 ft. light at the drag strip will let you know how quick your car is...

 

Generally speaking...0-60 in 6 seconds or less is considered to be fast acceleration from a dead stop but...The cars gotta hook to do it. I venture a guess that a fair amount of the healthy cars on here cant do it simply because they dont hook well on street tires...

I consider 5 seconds pretty quick, I'm shooting for about 5 with my Tbird HO EFI motor once the weather gets dry and I get fatter tires than the stock ones. My dad's 2.3l Fox body Mustang takes 10... but with Eibach suspension he doesn't need to brake.

 

If you can't grab a $10 bill off the dash because you're pinned to the seatback, it's fast!

 

Fast is a relative term.....................the very first time I sat in the Maverick at the drag strip I turned a 1.849 60' time, and the fastest (with the old motor) was a 1.410 60' time.............I'm hoping to be in the 1.2's with the new motor and trans...............I don't know about the dollar bill thing............I was to busy watching the tach, shifting and making sure I was going straight......................For a street car I would think anything under 4 seconds would be pretty fast..................IMHO

 

5 seconds from 0-60mph is going to be wishful thinking with a thunderbird HO motor. It's just not going to happen, unless the car weighs under 2200 pounds.

5 seconds is a very impressive number on the street for 0-60mph. Think of the Factory Five Racing AC Cobra replicas with stock 80s mustang 5.0 motors.

Ok sounds good guys. I guess I'll have to head to the strip to see what it does for sure. I'm not going to race all the time but it would be fun to get a baseline idea.

 

Doesnt take much to make these little cars fun or fast whatever you want to call it. 0-60 for me would be awful. 4:11's and street tires just dont work for me to do runs from a stand still. Not that it matters. IF I want it to hook Ill go spend a bunch of coin on suspension and tires. Fast to me is if it makes my smile and get all butterflies like a little kid.

 

To me, a car that can't run on the highway at 75 because its set up for 0-60 is a slow car.. It's all a matter of perspective..-I know this isn't an answer to what you want to know...food for thought.

 

I have done 0-60 mph in 2.1 seconds before on a Kawasaki Ninja. THAT was fast.

My maverick would likely fall apart or asplode if it ever went that fast.
