Oh now you got me thinking! There's a show, mey be wheeler dealers. Car collector/trader in south beach who's blonde wife is pretty hot too!
I agree, impersonation of law is a criminal offense. But, for those who have the ability, resources to rebuild/restore/restomod an old car, can be a little more PICKY/FUSSY. I do realize a lot of what u see on shows like "Overhaulin", is staged. Some of the folks I have seen getting the car they've had collecting dust for years, if not decades, w/ little or no hope of ever getting back on the road -- Don't have the PICKY/FUSSY option. If YOU were in that category... The idea of getting ur dust collector back in operation, might not seem so hideous. The way I see it... I cud overlook such things as color, not having 900hp, a killer 1Kw stero and a few other things to have a "no-cost-to-me" car I cud drive anytime/anywhere and turn a few heads in the process.
I saw the same Fast n Loud the other night (while trying to sleep). one of those shows that always keeps me awake cause I have to know how it turns out. What other good classic car shows are out there? I never see any now, could be due to the lack of searching though.
Wheeler Dealers, is a show from England. I know the one your talking about, I just can't think of the name.
powerblock out of all the restoration shows on these days i like the powerblock that comes on spike tv on saturdays and sundays the best..the guys on musclecar do some cool stuff on some not so common cars...but the show "horsepower tv" should be .."LS1 horsepower tv"... or ."lets build a 350 tv"...it makes me sick everytime i watch the show
Yes that's the channel. I like some euro cars so I guess that's why I like Wheeler Dealers. The Audi Quattro and the Jensen Interceptor episode were great.
And that's what it is.....a Jesse James show. More about him chasing away his demons, bossing people around and his personal life. He is talented, but I've never liked his personality or attitude. I did catch the Fast and Loud show last night online on the Discovery website. It was the episode where they saw the Maverick. I think they have 3 full episodes on their site.
I watched the graveyard one again last night and those guys are straight up annoying with their bitching at each other constantly. That one guy, the taller one, just needs to STFU! Are they brothers? I don't think I'll be watching that show again.
There was a show called Barter Kings on A&E where all they do is start with something small and keep trading up (with no cash) to get something big at the end. The "big thing" at the end of an episode I saw the other night was a pretty nice looking Maverick
Of all the drama'tised car shows I guess Overhaulin is still one of the best. My gf usually cries when the people get their car at the end. The only thing I've ever wondered is if the bodywork holds up. I'm still used to the old school methods, but I don't see how they prep and paint a car in 1 or 2 days and it lasts. I know epoxy and polyester primers don't shrink like the old laquer primers....but it just don't seem like their time frame (if it's true) gives the materials enough time to cure.
Overhaulin was my favorite too. The first host Courtney Hanson is sext as hell! She's the host of power block tv now but it's not a real big part. I sort of believe the timeline of the show. I'm sure the primer was baked in an oven booth to cure fast as was the paint. What I always thought they didn't show you was after the reveal when they tell the guy "well you can't have the car just yet because we didn't have time to finish blah blah blah". But it sure looked pretty when they revealed it! Yup still my favorite. They're showing overhaulin on velocity now.
I have brought that up a few times.. Seems maybe you and I are the only ones to have seen it. I only saw the commercial though.. It was a black Mav..
