the only way for controls to go bad is being bent, or are the bushings worn out?

You refering to upper or lower control arms?
What size wheels and offset are you running?
What brand of parts did you use when you replaced them?

A number of places make aftermarket control arms, both uppers and bottoms, but they are very expensive..................around $500 for a pair.

If you bought these a year ago new and if both are going bad I'd say you have other problems.
What kind of rims and tires do you have in front................?

If the balljoints and bushings are bad in just a year, and assuming you haven't driven a 100,000 miles this past year it sounds like a radical mis-alignment problem, which i would've expected you definitely should of felt while driving
