    i finally put my interior back togethor. Used some nice black goodies that were preserved in Wisconsin. Our plastic and vinyl just dosnt last down here in the desert. I put in the original black back seat, back seat surrounds, kick panels, and sunvisors. Thanks Acornridgeman (Eric) :thumbs2:

    Discovered a new oil puddle...Turns out the front right wheel cylinder died on the way home from a cruise in. Car is probably done for the season, I have the disc conversion parts ready to install.

    It was a busy weekend!:smash::jack::sweep:

    Installed new Master Cylinder, bled brakes.

    Removed back seats to find three LARGE mouse houses!! Cleaned/removed all that mess and re-installed seats.

    Rebuilt carb.

    Drained tank, removed sending unit (gas gauge didn't work) to find that the float was no longer on the sender arm! Fished for hours trying to find float in tank. Ended up going for a walk in the woods (at 8:30pm) to harvest the sender off an old Monarch and got a float that worked.

    Replaced all the rubber fuel lines (old ones were dry rotted and weeping) and found a brand new Lock Ring and Seal I had in my 'junk' drawer! :yahoo:

    Buttoned it all back together, fired it up and finally took it for a drive!!!:character0182:

    I have had this car for over 3 weeks, and am now finally able to drive it.

    My first Maverick took 4 years of weekend job in order to become a safe driver. But it was a real piece of junk when I bought it:drive:

    Not easy at all .... it was necessary a surgical procedure.:evilsmile
    with this size of wheels and tires, just roll the fenders out would not solve the problem.

    Ripped off the outer and inner border, welded a steel internal frame and reworked everything using fiberglass with epoxy resin(best resistance and adherence on metal sheet).

    I think it's possible to do all the job in metal, but I already work with fiberglass
    so it was easier for me

    I too was wondering how you extended them. I thought you just meant flared them. any pics of the cut out? you dont notice anything out of the ordinary other than some possible flaring

    Pulled the fuel tank for inspection and cleaning/painting, tank looks pretty good but there is some sediment in it and I need a new sock.
