    Hello friends,

I have problems with the instrumentation lighting. The indicator lights work. I removed the speedometer, everything worked before, not now. Plug is right there, bulbs are intact. What could I have ruined? Which fuse is for the lighting?

    Regards Nils

Take a look at the connector on back of the cluster. The contacts are not glued or held down, and can bend and fold when the plug is put in. Also, check the wire connectors on the plug and see that they are not pulled out or broken. Hope this helps.

A little off the subject, but if you have the instrument cluster out you can paint the inside of the housing white. It will brighten up the faces tremendously! The light however will lose the bluish tint and turn amber. Below is how mine looks now. Notice the transmission indicator. It is still original. I'm going to do it and the heater control also! :thumbs2:

It was like tody said. I knew the dimming function before, but had not thought of that. Someone must have changed.

Should illuminate when the ignition of oil and actually Temp? Who are with me always dark. Only ALT lights.

Oil and Alt light with the key turned on. The rest should light when you're actually cranking the engine. :)
