73 Maverick buckets looked like that, but so did Pinto. (74's had the plastic thing for the seatbelt)

Those look like Pinto seats. '71 to '73 Maverick bucket seats are the same as '71-'73 Mustang seats. They are not the same as Pinto.

Those look just like the seats I have in my garage, except mine are black. They were pulled out of a Pinto, but I don't know the year. I also got the sport mirrors with the passenger side remote out of that Pinto.:bouncy:

1973 Mav/Comet bucket seats are not the same as 1971-73 Mustang bucket seats. The 1971-73 Mustang "highback" foam and skins do not fit the 1973 Mav/Comet seat frames.

I like the '71 & '72 buckets better. I'd love to have a set of those in black.

I should have specified '71-'73 "Maverick" bucket seats. All the '73s I've seen are the same as '71-'72. Comets may have been different. Those orange ones in the pic are clearly '74 (shoulder belt gives it away).

Here's a set of 73's that I have, plus I've seen 73's with the shoulder belts. No difference between Mavericks and Comets.

Does anyone have a photo of the back seat from a 1973 Maverick/Comet? I need it for the uphostery shop to duplicate.

    Thanx BOB

What about the 71 comet buckets and 71 mustang buckets are they the same? I know the tracks are different but are the seats the same? Just asking because I have 71 comet buckets and want to know if I can order skins/pads for a 71 _ 73 bucket? Thanks :)

Yes, 1971 Mustang highback skins will fit 1971 Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats.

1971 Mustang highback bucket seats are the same as 1971 Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats.
1972 Mustang highback bucket seats are the same as 1972 Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats.
1973 Mustang highback bucket seats are not the same as 1973 Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats.
1974-up I am not sure about. I have not dealt with those years before.

Since 1971-73 Mustang highback bucket seats are the same, you can see that they are the same as 1971-72 Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats. But there are some small special things, like the tilt seat release lever placement, etc.

Any year Mustang highback bucket seat tracks are not the same as Any year Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats tracks.

1971-1973 Mustang highback bucket seats will bolt to Any year Comet/Maverick highback bucket seats.

You need Comet/Maverick highback bucket seat tracks to easily bolt highback bucket seats (Comet/Maverick OR Mustang) to the Comet/Maverick floor pan.

Not trying to be rude, just laying it out simply so that it is easily understood. Ofcourse, anything can be made to fit. Keep in mind that the highback bucket seat skins for a Mustang will fit, but the patterns may not match existing rear seat patterns. Also, I am not sure about LDO seats and tracks. And if I screwed up any part of the list above, please feel free to correct. :tiphat:
