I miss Topolino, he is very skilled and I look forward to his updates. I cant wait for him to return next month!
He is doing a fantastic job on his car. I envy him, his patience and his skills. I too, enjoy following his progress.
if I have the right guy in mind hes the guy in brazil thats building a SWEEEEEEET maverick. yes he does all of his own work sanding grinding fabricating paint EVERYTHING himself the car looked pretty nice in pics when he got it. but got to tearing into it and found rotten floors and panels that needed replaced. last I saw he had it off the frame and working on replacing 1/4 panels I think. I seem to remember something about a really nice like midnight blue with a metal flake paint job (maybe what he started out with or was going to paint the car?) someone correct me if Im wrong. so many nice projects being hand built by there owners its hard to keep up
That might be right guy. He IS in Brazil and he does do his own work, but his Mavs are Orange and Black. I think his name is Sid. Here is his thread, http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=82978&highlight=topolino
thats who I was talking about. I remembered his car when he first got it. Ive seen pieces of what hes done with his car. I stopped following to pay more attention to my own car. his work is definitely inspiring but pain staking at the same time. I can only imagine the back aches hes had from all of the body work hes done.
No Doubt. I admire his hard work, ability and attention to detail. I am paying someone to most of the bodywork on my project. I have no experience with metal, I'm a wood guy.
when I get that far I might try and cut a small easy to replace if I screw it up panel and see how it goes. if it comes out well I MIGHT try a bigger project. as of today Ive never owned a welder let alone used one. the guys that know how to use them make it look SO easy. I KNOW I wont be doing any of the paint work when it comes time. WAY too much repetitive work sand fill sand fill sand paint sand paint sand paint some color then fine sand then clear then fine sand then buff something like that anyway lots and lots of sanding.
