Made the deal. Just need the title notarized..
I am happy with it. No under hood rust that I could see. The frame rails are really nice. Has dual exhaust out the back sides. Frame connectors. GT grill that looks intact with no breaks. All glass is good. Doors close solid and easy. One thing I did notice is that the LF fender has been replaced. It was replaced with the same color fender. Battery has been relocated to the trunk. Rear bumper is perfect with no blemishes that stand out. He said the front will need rechrome and he will have it when I go get the car..

MII kit looks a little different than an R & C - the top hat looks almost home made

    Overall the car looks great

Wow, it's clean!! Looks like an early car too, the vin number is pretty low. Good thing you're a welder, you may want to replace the front suspension with another kit....
The door panels are amazing! Great score, Congrats!! :thumbs2:

Actually the kit looks pretty stout. He said it had a 351. I am waiting for him to tell me again who made the crossmember. Came from Prescott Arizona. My wife remembers the name of the town but not the manufacture..

The main cross member looked fine from the few photos that I saw but the top hats, I'm not too sure of without detail photos - they have to be stout to take a compressed stock coil spring into them and take all the car can give them - do they have some sort of a seat welded in underneath the hats to seat the top of the coil spring?

Sounds good Gene - I'm sure you will give it a once over more than once and if it doesn't look right, just rebuild it strong like a Royal Gate

Looking forward to seeing more detailed photos - I know you will be running a new project thread with this one :thumbs2:

I didn't look into the underside of the top hat. I hope the spring seat does not allow the spring to move around under there.. surely not.
The ad shows 1/4" and 3/16" steel is used and it looks it.
The guy I got it from had bought it for the drivetrain for his Ranchero project. The guy he got it from kept alot of what is missing..

Your bottom A Frames are best purchased from the cross member builder so they fit - they will be the wide A Frame type and will be a tubular design but builders like to build their own sometimes - your top A Frames can be stock MII if you want or tubular - spindles and rack just MII stuff :)
