I saw an old thread where a guy made real traction bars for mavericks but got told off the forum. Is there any that are a posituve design without any play? Kind of similar to a control arm in its operation. Also does this help keep the rear end centered with those style of bars?

Cal-traks are supposed to be the best traction device for our cars. I don't know if it helps keeps the axle centered or not but you can always install a watts link for that.

I think i mean a ladder bar style of rod.

Keep coming back to the caltracks but the expense is alot after i factor in new springs.

I think the caltrac bars might help with side to side play of the axle.

Thank you! that was exactly what I was looking for. So they just weld on the front in front of the spring eye correct?

Did you have to shorten them or anything?

I think they would work TONS better than my slapper bars but obviously wont outwork the caltracs.

Yes they weld to the frame near the eye. They are specific for the Maverick. So, there are no adjustments to the design. It requires a specific year shock mounting plate. Look at their site. I did not discover their site until I purchased mine from eBay/Mustangs Unlimited. I think the quality of the originals might be better for the few extra dollars.

I have not installed yet. it was suggested that I get about 600 miles on the new springs before I install.

I don't see much difference between the Caltracs and the other one posted above. Instead of welding, Calvert uses a solid aluminum busing on the front of the leafspring, which pretty much "welds" it to the frame.

    And Caltracs are adjustable.

I was just comparing the part numbers between the Mustangs Unlimited/eBay bar and the Traction Master site. The Mustangs Unlimited unit is the same as what Traction Master lists as for a Mustang. Traction Master has a seperate part number for the Maverick/Comet.

I have test fit Mustangs Unlimited bar to my car. The only thing I saw was the front mount was about 1/4 too long for the place I needed to weld to. Did not see this as much of an issue and I feel comforatble that they will work.

With that, you might want to check with Traction Masters and see what the difference in the part numbers are.
