I had to take my panel off and lube up all the internals. Not hard to do, took about an hour or so., You can use a screwdriver to pry off clips behind the panel and if you are careful it wont tear the back lining. Watch out for black gunk.
I've had to pull door panels on my old 4 door and work the lock. From the outside it wouldn't unlock, from inside (the door, not the car) it would. No amount of lube helped on this one. Something on my doors was out of adjustment. My dad helped back then (I was a teenager at the time) and I'm not sure what he adjusted. I think some linkage was bent or worn from use and age. I may be able to look at my 2 door and figure it out, but thankfully I haven't had that problem on this car.
