CarQuest has had some parts for my Mavericks when others haven't. That was 10+ years ago. What I do now is call all the local car parts places and usually end-up ordering stuff on-line. I've never been to Saskatchewan before, but when I was out in Edmonton (again 10 years ago) they had nicer cars at the Edmonton Pick-Your-Part than I was driving at the time. IIRC, Yorkton is about 3 hours away from...everything?

Kijiji sometimes has stuff, but again, Sask seems a little baron when it comes to Maverick/Comet parts. Good luck!

for all the parts your gunna need i would suggest going to rockauto.com.... they have just about every part u will ever need including complete gasket sets and rebuild kits for 6cyl and v8 and any other vehicle you can think of.... the parts are all name brand and are cheaper than from the store

so 351 is that new engine or rebuilt. does that engine bolt right in? how much did you pay and did you have to get more performance parts to go with the engine? thanks for your help ill get pics of my restore very soon.

I think if u want a v8 go with a 302, my friend just found him a mav and he catching hell with installing it also ive heard building a 302 is cheaper than rebuilding a 250

i just finished rebuilding it a couple months ago, it came out of a 1970 mach 1 mustang and its been in my family for a while..... it will bolt up inside of a maverick if you have all the v8 motor mounts and tranny bracket.... but the problem you run across is a clearance issue, the 351 is wider then the 302, not by a ton but just enough that you have to cut some things down to make it fit. you also have to cut down the strut towers so u can reach the spark plugs, and you have to get custom headers or use factory 302 manifolds (which i did for now).... since i already had the engine i didnt need to buy a block but i have around 1100 bucks into the engine.... its bored 30 over with a mild cam, e7 heads ( not the best heads but they were cheaper then getting the original heads re done) and a holley 650 cfm carb..... its a good start on the engine but i want to do more upgrades to it already lol...... its a lot of work but its definately worth it to me! if you want a little more detail on the whole process i can tell you more about it!

if you have any more questions just let me know!

im going to be doing so much work to the car its hard not to go with the v8 after all the work goes in and then you are not happy with the power of the car. i think i might have to dish out the cash for the engine. i was on a website that had rebuilt 302 engines ill find the website and let you know and they want $1100 but thats shipping costs too. i live in canada so its an extra $250 for ship which seems fine. is that a good deal?

when you check the website, make sure that their definition of "rebuilt" is the same as what you expect it should be...not just a paint job and some bearings...just sayin'...

ya i would definately see what they mean by rebuilt, and if they are bone stock or have some performance parts like different heads or cams or something like that.... its not a bad price for them if you dont want to re build it yourself but you could always buy a motor, rebuild it and stick that 1100 bucks into it and have something with a little more power, depending on what you want to do of course!
