Nice car. But you are going to have a very limited market. Good luck with the sale. You can always set the reserve high this time and lower it later if you need to.:)

I'd shoot for 25000, then see how far it goes. If you the the full price, you'll be happy, and while your on you're way to Florida, you can stop in Georgia and buy one of the cheap Mavericks they have there, and still have money for you're new house.

I think the car is worth the 20-25K for someone in the market for that type of car. However, I agree /w Don Graham, "there is a limited market".
Not many people want a car w/ no accessories, even a 40yr old one.
    Gud luck w/ the sale.

awesome car but I wouldnt mention the cam since you dont have the specs and I wouldnt mention not being raced since its a race car.
as far as the price by looking at it and reading the parts list and work done I would say you have atleast 20-25k into it depending on whats been done to the motor and every one knows theyll never get there money back unless they happen to have a chevelle or something like that so I would say it would hurt to sell it dont do it.

if you sold it you would be looking for that car for the rest of your life and you would regret it every day. maybe not at first. but once everything settles down and the move is over and the money is gone youll go out to the garage one day feeling like you need to do something but cant figure out what then youll think man I would love to have my car still. and every day that would be the thought you wake up to and go to bed to FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE :(

I would think if it did sell for 25k could you turn around and build another one with that same amount of money later? even if its over time and a couple hundred here and there?

in my opinion I would just suck up the moving expenses as best you can and keep the car. sure it would mean some financial challenges for a minute but even with the car Im sure you run into financial challenges every now and then. what do you do then? hunker down for the storm of bills and ride through until it all clears up right?

good luck with your decision and your auction if you do list it.

Hate to say it here and as much as I love and eventually plan on emulating that car in many ways as mine progresses to near full race mode.. in the end it's a niche car. Which means the cross section of interested buyers will be extremely small.

If it had a higher dollar motor in it.. I would be guessing closer to the higher dollar amounts others are suggesting here. But it doesn't.. and I'd say around 15-18k would be about all you'll get for it. And that's only if you're actually able to find the right buyer that finds that kind of worth for such a car. Otherwise.. if you're just trying to dump it to liquidate some quicker cash?.. 10-12k would probably be about it.

The reality is that we never even get close to getting 75% of the cash invested in such a car back out of it at sale time. Full race cars can be far less than that with many going for less than the cost of the MOTOR ALONE. Just the way the cookie crumbles for the plain jane models.

I'm extremely sorry to see you sell it if that's all you'll get from the car. If you don't get offered much more than 12k for it.. I'd seriously think about keeping it for now and continuing to enjoy it for a few more years to get more of your moneys worth out of it.. before being low-balled out of such a finely built ride. Just my dirty penny.

the fact that you want to sell it makes it worth less. if you found some one that really wants that car then you can get a top dollar. sense your looking to sell it quickly its going to be hard to get much over what the low prices above are.

lots of cars have for sale signs on them at car shows. from what ive been told is that allows the owners to write off the costs of the car for example the gas and entry fee to the car show. then if someone has to have the car the owner is in the position to name their price and stand firm.

if your wanting top dollar I would put some general for sale ads up on craigs list and some for sale stickers on the car quarter windows and take the car out to every event possible.

I think you've hit the nail right on the head.....Yep, it's a niche car for sure and the reality is i don't "have" to sell it but it would make things a little easier. ....My hope is to find an ex-road race Ford fanatic or a guy tired of Mustangs that is immune from Viagra but still needs help:D

Man that car is SO unique. I wouldn't consider less than 20000 if I built it. Of course that means it likely wouldn't sell in a reasonable time span if at all. One never knows though. Id shoot around the 25 mark and see what happens.

I've seen them...you can tell how overpriced the car is by how faded the stickers are...:yup:

also you see the high dollar cars in hemmings. so I would expect the buyers with money would be checking hemmings.

Your write up has a "coil cooler" instead of an oil cooler.

You would probably be lucky to see the high side of $15,000. Outside this site and a couple other Maverick sites, it is really a fairly small crowd wanting these cars compared to the Camaro/Mustang crowd, and how many have money like that running out of their ears?

Nice car but not too many people shopping for one, but you only need 2 to bid against each other. Put it on EBAY with a big reserve, if it sells you make good money, if it doesn't pay the fee and move on. Kind of like speculating with it.
