Well i got my car back today all fixed up from the damaged that happened couple weeks ago there..looks amazing..they went beyond what they needed to do and replaced windshield clips...polished the rest of the car, touched up a few rock chips..was extremely happy with the job. Well on the way home after driving about 10 mins it went BOOM clang bang crack boom, and then died. was very loud and came from the engine..so my dad got his trailer and we loaded it up..now the only thing left is a tear down to find out what happened and see where i go from there, if its a 351 or a simple rebuild on this..sounded pretty nasty so hopefully i can salvage some parts. took the insurance off the car...hopefully be ready to go for next spring..didn't even get a real pass on this motor..anyways, i took a pic of where it rolled to and sat waiting for the trailer...i think it looks good
Sorry to hear about the engine troubles, but I'm glad you're paint shop treated you right. That paint looks AMAZING!!
Wow, it looks great! Guess I've been so used to seeing your Avatar picture in Orange for so long I didn't recognize the car..........and it does look great. Let us know what you find................to bad you live so far away because I've got this great 351 race prepped block sitting under the work bench just taking up space.....................certainly won't need it anymore.
im not sure when ill even tear into it honestly..back in school right now for 10 weeks (6 left) then i might rip it open..it was very loud and very bad sounds..really scared me because i was just going down the highway at 3000rpm all happy and excited to get it home. That 351 would sure be nice. ever think about moving to bc? ..if theres any issues at all here i think the 302 will be a new boat anchor..and id only be looking to do a 351...even though my heads are a little small for it (if they didn't get damaged) and thank you everyone, i'm very happy how the car turned out! they even fixed a few rocks chips i had.
No problem.....................come and get it if you want. It has been line honed but will need to be bored................even has been drilled and tapped for extra oil to the distributor gear............along with a good oil pump and race alternator.......................I think it's only about a 3 hour drive...............one way to my place...........and bring friends to lift the block
should be able to lift the block by yourself! i had to pack around my 302 with pistons/crank/cam all installed mind you i am 24..hell of a deal..expecially since getting a block bored out is the cheapest part! your just too nice john! thanks everyone for the comments as well, and i almost actually threw those mags out untill about a month ago when i got a mothers polishing ball..thing works wonders.. so lastnight i was sitting around thinking all night and same with all today at school "wonder what happened to my engine" so when i got home i pulled the distributor, my dad was thinking the gear drive grenaded and sent it through everywhere...well i believe thats what may have happened, i can't see inside there too well but i pulled the dist (its in perfect shape which is good..was expensive) got a light and looked down, seen a few chunks of metal, some shavings..timing cover is pretty smashed up on the inside from what i can see, then spotted a bunch of chunks hanging out near the bottom..not sure what it'll look like when i get it apart, never seen this happen to a engine that ive personally looked at..would be nice if the pistons/block/crank/headds were good..just a dis-assemble/clean up and a few new parts would make my day..
Well, it's about 200lbs............and yes, you are young guy with good back, knees and no hernia.........................:Handshake
