No hernia yet. Lifting blocks will help with that. Car looks good, I'm sure you'll have it going in no time
Frank might be onto something there. I lost my oil pump drive twice, likely bits of old valve seals getting sucked into the pump. If that is the case, get a pump pickup that has a full screen, like Mellings. The stock Ford pickup has a bypass design and that how the crud got into the pump.
The car looks great. Glad you saved the wheels. The back ground setting looks like the car was staged for the picture. Love B. C. Good luck with your engine.
It was a arp oil shaft.. But it actually looks a little bent now.. Isn't sitting centered.. Long weekend and no homework so I might pull the front of the car off then timing cover and see what's going on.. Thought it would sit but curiosity is taking over.
So, did the distributor gear look ok along with the cam gear? Pull off one or both valve covers to get a closer look, are the rockers tight and everything look good? Now I am very curious also...............
the distributor looks awesome, had a look down and seen the cam, cant quit tell for sure but it looks ok...i was going to pull the whole front off the engine tonight to really see what went on but if you see my topic in technical i had a issue..once i get the front off ill take the valve covers off and see if anything there is bent up/broke.
Oh, I didn't notice your "technical" post. Did it go on pretty easy and when you put it on did you use anti-seize? If you have room a little heat (I have used a small propane torch) should also make it easier to pull...............PB will also work.
Went in super easy.. Just went out and got myself a real nice puller. So I'm going o give this a shot in he moning and see what happened inside there! Gonna take pics aswell so I can post em here in this topic.

I didn't realize you had a gear drive setup..................have never used one.................and guess I never will after seeing yours. Hope everything survived the shrapnel.
Two guesses, the cam seized ( not likely ), or some foreign object got between two of the gears. I have a friend that has this gear drive set on his, I know, Chevy 327 and it's been there for years! I don't think there was any failure due to " improper materials or workmanship "!
