I need to replace the ball joints, tie-rod ends and just about every bushing on my front end suspension and steering components to eliminate slop and correct poor handling before getting new tires and aglinment. Are there any good OEM kit recommendations or am I better off taking it all apart, inspecting and ordering all the parts separately?

Moog, is about the best you can get, any good auto parts supplier will sell Moog.

you can buy upper and lower control arms for fairly cheap and put them in and be done its so much easier. then you can upgrade your shocks and springs while you have it apart. the lower control arm with the ball joint in it was like $50 at a local mustang shop the ones autozone has are CHEAPOs the ones from the mustang shop were much better quality even though they carried the same part number
I bought my upper control arms with the ball joint in them from someone en evil bay for somewhere around $130 shipped for the pair if I remember right. this is for stock equipment obviously at these prices

Yeah, like remove it. You can buy a whole kit from some like Laural Mountain Mustang fairly reasonable and there are many other out there. I think I saw a kit for about $300 that had almost everything.

I used the kit from Laural Mountain Mustang. All parts are American made. Came with one inch lowered springs, heavy duty sway bar, upper and lower control arms, tie rods, the works. I put this on my 73 at the same time I put disc brakes on.

It does have power steering and one of the problems with my set up is the bracket where the cylinder bolts up to the frame has been shimmed down about 5/8" in order for the cylinder to clear the headers when turning. The bracket is loose and needs to be modified and the cylinder leaks. Kinda like having power steering but maybe it's more trouble than it's worth, got to think about that one.
Any other pros or cons on power steering?

Thanks for the Laural Mountain lead....

I ordered some of my components from moog directly then ordered the roller spring perch conversion kit from either mustang steve or dazecars, pretty easy to do... although I never could pinch the tube enough to allow proper space for fastening the bottom of the shocks... can still do it but it's a pain.

These can be rebuilt but in my opinion are not a very good setup to begin with and not worth the time, some may disagree but these cars are light and easy enough to steer. The cheapest route is to go stock manual. Another alternative is a power steering box, if you want power steering, I think Borgeson is making the direct bolt in replacement. It does away with the slave cylinder. And another option is the Unisteer R&P kit that just got developed. I think the Borgeson box is around $500 plus And the Unisteer I think I saw where it was going to be around $1600. I see where a problem with the Unisteer product could be. In the Galaxie world there are complaints that there is a lot of flexing with the mounting. I know the mav/com setup bolts right to the frame but I think form looking at it it interferes with the belly bar(so you can't run it, but I may be mistaken), so you lose that support, placing some of the strain on the R&P unit itself still allowing the LCA mounting areas flex. I think Braess is making a crossmember for his to mount the R&P to, that would seem like much better way to go.

That kit that Braess has the link to is a more complete kit than I bought, I didn't get their sway bar or shocks with mine and I think I paid $299.

And.... like Dyent said there is no way you are going to get rollerized control arms for that money.

I have 60-63 Comet/Falcon Spring Perches on my Maverick, they came with greasable brass roller from the factory and about $180 cheaper per pair than Opentracker's perches.
