Yeah, the compressor issue sucks considering every major tool I have is air. Cant do much with a compressor that freezes my tools after a few minutes of running it.

I am not sure which spoiler Bob has, however I asked him a few weeks ago if he had one and he acknowledged that he did. I do plan to recreate it, but also add bit of a twisted touch to it. I will also be recreating the extensions to form a crisp line from the spoiler to the bumper. I will be also notching the rear bumper to have it have close to perfect gap lines and run into the rear valance I purchased for a 69 mustang. I have a lot of little touches that I would like to begin last month, but lacking a good welder has been a little hindering. Now that I have a welder that isn't going to burn holes, add slag everywhere on the piece, and chance of ruin it. I can begin these tasks.

The chassis of the car is going to take me the longest really to complete due to having to custom make, and purchase brand new suspension all the way around. So it really gives me the ability to work on the rest of the car in between purchasing/installing particular parts.

I have found a set of brackets online that are extremely expensive (1200$ just brackets/hardware/links) and I found a little loophole digging online. I have found a site that will sell me individual brackets for $130 for one of each that are needed (housing bracket/chassis bracket). I then will draw it up based off of the measurements and have it laser cut, CNC machined, and reamed. $200 vs $600 - 700.

I appreciate it, I sure hope it comes out and looks great. The followers are great and feels good knowing that I am at least sparking a interest with what I plan to do with the car. I love the response from people, and the ideas/critics/stories that follows. I encourage people to share their thoughts and ideas.

I am all about being different, and innovative. I am not opposed to being a band wagon jumper, but I like to be original. It is also a huge test of patients for myself to be able to start, and finish a MAJOR project but also teach my self the ability to do it right. I plan on taking it to car shows just for the fact that you don't see the Ford Maverick a lot, and when you do you can typically appreciate the beautifulness of their car, or admire what custom touches they've done to the car. Plus, the mavericks generally win some awards :p

This car keeps me up at night, I cant stop thinking about different ways I can do things, ideas, thoughts of what if I did this vs this. Kind of a obsession for me at the moment. I look at the car at wleast 10 times a day haha.

The start of the rear spoiler. Need to make a few minor changes to it, but you get the idea :)

haha. Ill keep that in mind.

I got it on the car mocked up. I am going to get some round stock, and bend it into one piece. Also I will need to make some adjustments so that everything is uniform, and level. I also need to get some measurements and get some sheet metal. Before I can do that I will need to get some green 3" tape so I can get a feel of what it will look like as if it was a 3d piece. Then I will adjust to how I would like to see it, get the concave measurements and transfer it to steel.

Heres a blurry cell picture of it.

    Very nice.

Yep.. that's the spoiler shape I remember Bob's prototype having too. Should look killer if you get the dimensions correct and all tied in with the endcaps.

Thanks for the lead. I'll check it out and link Levi to it for some added inspiration.

Not that he really needs it with a build like this one.

Alright! Got my hood latch, and my door latches! Ill put those in the new parts box and wait to install later.

Tonight swung by lowes and grabbed some 3" tape and got a 3D look of what the rear spoiler will look like. I like it, feel it may be a little high, and the tape doesnt get the concave I would like to achieve. Same with the rear of the spoiler. I will have a 3/4" break towards the bottom to pinch weld to the actual trunk lid.

What you think? Sorry if the pictures are blurry.

your car & creation...but it's a little too high for my liking now that you got the tape on it and can see what's going on. btw i really like the "ford" script you put on the back LOL

I agree with ESampson that's it's too high. I would make it at least 1" to 1.5" lower and see how it looks.
