Tried to use the C4 bell housing, starter and flexplate to fire up dads truck. He bought an 89 that was missing the transmission but had a "great running 4.9" in it. We took a chance on it knowing if it didn't run we had the engine from his beat up 89. Turns out the 157 tooth pieces put the starter too close to the block and it was all a no go.

Just because I can feel it coming, yes I know the imbalance would be wrong but it would have worked long enough to hear it run.

Helped my neighbour push his new '70 split bumper camaro into his shop..he got it and apparently it wouldnt run all that well...well thats because the rockers came loose&off and were laying on the head lol.

so i went back into my shop to remove my valve springs to take out the centers for the break in when my engine goes back in my car..well for some reason i couldn't get the compressor to grab the inner spring as well to get them off..so the fight was on & i quit very quickly and decided to build a bolt on compressor like trick flow sells (wouldnt be able to get one here till end of the month) couple hours of making it and its ready to go for in the morning..saved me 170bucks as well. atleast ill get something accomplished tomorrow....and i also sent in a order to summit for 2500 dollars :( that one hurt...but i think it's the last of the things i need besides exhaust.

Spent the weekend grinding welds on my lower cowl. Got the windshield wiper posts installed and the upper cowl panel basically mocked-up. I have a few hours of hammering to get the areas where the inner fender brackets weld to the cowl ready for final placement. Once I'm happy with the way everything fits, I'll sink some tek screws into the upper cowl so I can easily re-align it after I get the inner part painted with POR-15.

spent all day Saturday rebuilding and installing the transmission. The maverick has moved under its own power for the first time since I have had it! My son took it out on its maiden voyage.

well at the races the caltrac worked great the car picked up 1 tenth in the 60ft and 2tenths in the 1/4mile and that was with the with out making any changes to the basic setup. The best it did was 11.071 at 120mph. I got lucky and made it to the quarterfinals but went red by .005. I am going to scale the car this weekend with a friend to try and get it a little more consistent before the season start

I talked to one of the guys in our Spokane store and he said it was snowing like nobodies business up there. Wish we had it here, all we got was freezing rain.

decided to pull the engine for a clean up and repaint. Installing a 4 bbl carb and factory aluminum intake. Maybe a cam swap too.

Made a remote lug out of the corner of a phenolic carb spacer to tie in all the wires from the side of the starter relay switch, it was having starting issues and I would have to get under the hood and tighten the nut on the batt. side of the relay, eliminated all that wiring from it and now have a hot lug to tie into for accessories.

I just cut it (red lines) drilled a hole in the recessed area (blue dot) and stuck a bolt through the newly drilled hole, put a nut on the other side and tightened it snugly, cut a piece of thick rubber to fit over the bolt head in the recessed area and forcibly put it in the recess, covering the bolt head, that is my new lug, used the other hole to bolt it to the fire wall (yellow arrow) and connected all my "extra" wires from the relay to the new lug.

Might be buying another Maverick LOL. hope this deal goes through...he needs to put the rear end back under it and then next weekend i can get it...excited as hell. 71 or 72..and super cheap. buying it sight unseen...which could be scary but not for this price :)

haven't done anything with my car, waiting for summit & they didn't ship my items yet cuz a 5 dollar pack of valve cover bolts were back ordered!!! called and told them what i thought of that, my stuff is on it's way now.
