I bought my main kit from Full Tilt Street Rods in Colorado but I had to do a lot more fabrication to fit it in my Maverick as it was originally designed to fit an early Falcon/Comet - it is in and correct now but overall it is in your best interest to look into the kits that are an absolute fit from Rod & Custom :)

Expand your mixed thoughts on the Rod and Custom?

So far, I am impressed with mine, other than the cost.

The product is good and the welds are exceptional. The shock tower covers were nicely done inside the engine compartment, but not within the wheel well area. They will need to be sealed by the shop it is in at present to ensure rust gremlins don't discover this.

I'd inquired if R&C could align the hood, (the fabricated latch was offset by the previous owner), and trunk lid since it is a real b***h to do alone and was told, "Sure, we'll take a look at it." When the job was done and I inquired how did it go, I was taken back by the response; "We don't have time to deal with this taking up room in one of our stalls and blah, blah, blah."

Talk about eyebrows hitting the hairline - I was taken back by this customer service.

Clearly, they should never have agreed to do something they didn't intend to do - especially since I'd been talking to them about this since June and the job was finally done in October.

They must have had a bad day/week.

So in reality, there isn't anything you don't like about the kit, its that they didn't line up your hood?

    The kit is fine.

Maybe they didn't QA the wheel wells - I don't know.

The hood and trunk lid, if they couldn't do it or didn't have time for it, so state that. To give me a ration of **** about it was unnecessary.

Am I missing something? What does the hood and especially the trunk lid have to do with the MII suspension?

Here is the one I will be trying. I bought a 72 GT that had the cross member already welded in place. I did not realize that before I made the commitment to buy it. Fortunatly the seller knew who made the cross member. I ordered the parts to put it all back together the other day.

Just shared the customer service aspect of R&C while the kit was installed.

Took a look at the shock tower covers this morning; they need to be removed and re-beaded - inside and out.

Gene brought it up but it made me wonder also - it's just that everyone's install, that I remember reading about, their kit was ordered and self installed - I didn't know that R & C did actual installs in their shop - only knew them as catalog :tiphat:
