I like the stance of your Maverick what size wheels and tires are you running? I have a 71 Comet I like the dog dish look but am having trouble finding wheels. The car has 14x4.5s on it stock. I want to leave those on the front but putting pwr brakes on shortly don't know if that is going to work we'll see. I would like to put 15s on the back but dont know how wide I can go any advice you can give would be awesome.

      thanks Russell

      Hi Reg,

I was looking at Joe's front spoiler and saw your question.

Those 14x4.5 wheels ought to be fine with Mav/Granada disc brakes IF the center hole will clear the spindle. The size on that changed, and I kind of doubt it will. Stock 14" wheels narrower than 7 inches are OK ... 7s get tight at the caliper.

I ran factory skinnies on the front and 14x7 station wagon rims and dog dishes on my first Comet. (white one in my gallery). Good luck getting decent 14 inch tires anymore.
