alright. i'd like to hear everyones opinion on this. Some pros and cons of each yall know... but like they say, "opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one. but they all stink!" anyway, ill say mine. ive always heard that a 347 is great for making a naturally aspirated street monster, but a 331 is the perfect setup for forced induction, nitrous and so on.
347 is at the breaking point in my opinion.. i am sure that some people are running a 347 with zero problems.. but i just think that it is near the breaking point the next motor i am going to build will be a 331 stroker. that way it wont be too hard on the block not bored all the way out... and will be a worry off my mind every time down the track but the 347 has the most power by far. or you could get a 351 and stroke it out.. 383 or 391? i think
Well the motor im getting ready to build, in fact im going to get it from my machine shop when i get off, is going to be a 331 completly forged rotating assembley. the 351 you can saftly bore and stroke to just over 454 cubic inches. but the most common are 393 408 and 427. that 427w is a freakin beast in a tiny package. but i have seen the engine masters challege guys have a 351w siamese block that was 468!!! but besides all that, which is the better engine combo a 331 or 347????
I have nothing to compare to but I absolutely LOVE my 347! Now I just gotta get some meats that will hold it down.
Your motor was not stroked last year at the Roundup right? Methinks I'm not going to keep up anymore.
it is going to be driven on the street occasionally but mostly driven to the track and raced. why? i just want to know everyones personal opinon on the subject. not to see what i should build. Besides, ill build mine the way i want to anyway sorry if that sounded rude, that wasnt my intension
"Dont need a good wrench" now thats funny!!! i wouldnt use a good wrench if i wasnt a ford guy!!!!! i'd use a snap on
