Hello All. , Been lurking around for some time after a friend who wanted a Maverick key chain from me told me about the site.... but thats another story No, I don't have a Maverick or Comet, never did but have allways liked them. Alot of friends had them in the early 80's when in high school. Closest I came to buying one was back then, it was a nice dark red 72/73 Comet Grabber that was for sale, for $600 if I remember. Was parked in a drive way but nobody was home. I came back later and the car was gone. The next weekend I go to a friends and the Comet is in his driveway, his girlfriend bout it I drive station wagons and have 3, yeah I know it's not really your guys thing but the work for me as I have 2 German Shepherds. I really wish the Brazillian maverick wagon happened up here, I would really like one of those. I am a Ford guy at heart having owned several 67/68 and one 69 Cougar so I'm kinda familuar with your cars and if ever I have 2-bits of info I'll chime in. Where I live there still is several decent Mavericks and Comits running aroung, they just don't seem to come up for sale when I have $, and or one is worth the $. I know it's not the proper forum for this but here is whats for sale on Vancouver Island rite now. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1975-Ford-Comet_17474680 http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1973-Mercury-Comet_17454144 http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1971-Ford-Maverick_17393619 http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1971-Ford-Maverick_17393619
Welcome to the board. If it was a Comet it was a GT. Maverick had the Grabber. Welcome to the board. Maybe you'll like these cars enough to find one to play with. Nothing wrong with wagons either.
I have bought a maverick keychain..was a hot wheel. I have seen a few comet wagons for sale in Canada last year or so...so don't give up the search.
