4v heads aren't really any better than 2v heads. Don't know what you're looking for exactly, but the E7 heads found on '87-up Mustangs(and maybe other Ford vehicles) are a good start. Most can be cleaned up and used because of their (lack of)age. Plus they've already got the hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel.E7s can be picked up for around $100 or less (around here anyway)The C90e or D00e 351w heads are decent, but at their age you can figure on a rebuild-usually about $300-400 depending what they need. Most old schoolers will want $100-250 for a set of these; before the aftermarket heads started showing up these were the heads everyone wanted. The GT40P heads from the late '90s Explorers work well, but exhaust is a pain because of the sparkplug angle. Not really sure what these are bringing, but custom headers will probably be needed to use them in a Maverick. For a budget build, the E7s are hard to beat unless you just fall into a great deal on a set of older rebuilt heads or GT40s, etc cheap.
