10 years or so a shop put a 60s era mustang body on a fox body chassie. i cobra irs does bolt into the fox chassie. so that idea is possible.
it would be easyer to put the back half frame rails under the maverick than the whole chassie.

No not yet its about an hour and a half away and with work its tough to get down there. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, did a search and came up with a co that did a cobra chassis formed to a 65 fastback. I might take some concepts from different cars and just build my own IRS, we will see...

90s tbirds had ifs too guys. saw one at the big ohio swap meet last week for 400 bucks or something. also i dant know how many of you have subscriptions to every car mag. like i do but one of them maybe motor trend just compared a m3 to a 2011 gt and even though they declared the m3 the winner they said the mustang was ahead of the beemer most of the way around the track at half the price. im thinking about selling organs for the new mustang boss laguna seca designed to spank the m3!!!!!!!!!!

Read that article while I was waiting to get a haircut like a month or so ago. Good article. Mustang took almost everything but couldn't come off the corners fast enough to take the M3 that was the mustangs fall point. Solid axle can only go so far.

Actually 99-04 Cobras had an Independent rear so locating one is a little easier. We chose a solid axle in our new project car to save weight and make gear changes easier. Also with the technology in today’s solid axle systems we saw no advantage to have and independent rear, but the sure look cool in the car. Good luck with your project.
