Thanks to the huge efforts of a certain person, I am proud, happy and thrilled to announce that at the 2009 MCG GATHERING in Joplin, MO. we will have a very special appearance by.................... Danny Miller and the Plastic Fantastic Danny will be with the car on display during show day. He will be there to put on a TECH seminar; you will be able to purchase T-shirts/ hero cards etc. He will also bring REAR GEAR decals and ad materials. Ask Danny all the questions you want and take photo's of what, in many opinions, is the baddest maverick on the planet! Here is a link to his website...... http://www.dannymiller-reargears.com/index2.html Again, thanks to the person who made this happen
Cant talk him into running it down the track? That wold be awesome!! I saw the car at Carlisle one year still in the "Plastic Fantastic" trim. Very cool car. Wish I could find my pictures of it.
I got to see him run at Cordova this summer! Does he own the original Plastic Fantastic, with the Boss motor, or does some collector have it?
That is awesome! Does the certain person wish to remain anonymous? Here is an old thread on the car. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=15970
sweet hopefully i'll be able to make it down this year it would be really cool to make it down this time with a car to my first time to the gathering
I found my answer, thanks to Allen's link: 1970 Alcohol Funny Car "Plastic Fantastic" Currently residing in Maine as a permanent part of our collection at Muscle Cars LTD., is the early '70's Maverick of ex-Midwest flopper racer, Danny Miller. We recently purchased the car in Tennessee after losing out on a deal to purchase the car in the mid 90's. The car is powered by an alcohol injected Boss 429 Stroked to 494 cubic inches and hooked to a Powerglide with an 8 3/4 Chrysler Rear. We intend to race and show it at some Nostalgia events this year, and put a supercharger back on before season's end.
