Rick, It's for the 302's in our Mavericks. I saw one advertized in the Auto Krafters magazine awhile back. Can't remember the brand. My starter is beginning to act up when the engine is hot. I'll check the Summit pricing also. Thanks, Ken
I would like to see one that has, not more torque, but less size...our starters are way too big to fit around all the headers, trans lines, etc.
Scooper, The torquers are smaller in size than stock, and they will turn the engine over alot faster. Jamie, Don't know what year Mustangs that will interchange.
I have a Power Master as well and I am very happy with it. I used to have all kinds of problems with the rebuilt stock starters I was using. My 302 is not high compression either. Now my Mav sounds like an old MOPAR when I fire it up though...
mine was worth it! but sound like the car has no compression now it starts so easy here is a thread about it. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=14325 many peeps on here helped me with it to who to hook it up. thanks again guys!
I used a PWM-9503. Since these starters come with a built on solenoid, you need to add a jumper from the battery post to the solenoid post on the starter. Very easy to do and small ga wire is all thats needed. Some guys use the starter mounted solenoid and get rid of or wire around the original one on your car. I personelly dont recomend this because your starter cable down to the starter will be hot all the time. Kinda like those "c" cars. I'd prefer to keep mine working like old Henery intended it to be.
